Can you believe how spacious this gorgeous Australian apartment is?

I’m especially enchanted by the kitchen and bathroom! Okay, the giant closet is pretty nice too… Seriously though, that bathroom is perfect! The double sinks and elevated bath and shower are so lovely. Oh and did I mention that it has a separate bath AND shower?

I have a love/hate relationship with tans, beiges, yellows and browns when it comes to interior design. In the US, beige walls and tan carpet are still the norm for so many apartments and it drives me crazy!! The good news is that it does seem to be changing, slowly but surely. It’s not that I want all apartments to look the same, it’s quite the opposite. They all look the same right now. A little variety and forward-thinking design could do us all some good.

This is a great example of a house that has a medley of the above-mentioned colors. However, when designed well, it has the ability to look unique and absolutely beautiful.

How are you feeling about your cities interior design?

It has been a very long week. It’s Seafair weekend here in Seattle which usually excites the crap out of me but I was so tired today I felt like I might not join in on the fun this year. I have seen some pretty tempting photos floating around the internet though, we’ll see I guess :)

Today I’ve gathered some of my favorite finds from this week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Please follow the link to Zack Seckler’s photography. The aerial photos are my favorite, absolutely stunning and unreal!!

+ This Lily Stan Studio look book is gorgeous! And the greyhounds… I want all the greyhounds!!

+ This Stockholm interior is to die for. Can I have spiral stairs in this lifetime please?

+ Zack Seckler’s aerial photography is unlike anything I’ve seen.

+ I’m always inspired by Breanna Rose. I enjoyed this post about kicking excuses to the curb.

+ Pretty gilded box diy on Cocorrina’s blog.

life lately 01

Hi friends! This is what I’ve been up to lately. Lots of magazines, flowers and beverages mostly. This is how I spend my downtime when I’m not doing homework, designing, lettering or taking care of the life things that aren’t interesting enough to mention.

01. Dwell Magazine and a delicious vanilla latte my sweet husband made for me. Dwell is such a fun read, I enjoy learning about the latest inventions in interior design. All of this in bed is a day well spent.

02. Peonies have quickly become one of my very favorite flowers. They are absolutely gorgeous and brighten up any room. They’re so large and blooming, I just can’t get enough of them. I snagged these at Pike Place Market on Saturday. I’ve since promised myself that I would keep fresh flowers in the house as often as possible.

03. If you know me, you know that I love ginger everything. GingerBerry is one of my favorite flavors of Kombucha. I love Kombucha. It’s so refreshing and incredibly good for you. It’s always a treat for me to try new brands and flavors. I’ve yet to try one I didn’t like.

04. Chickpea Magazine is a vegan quarterly magazine that I’ve been reading since their beginning in 2011. I was asked to include some jewelry in the product guide of their spring 2012 issue, which was a real treat for me. I love the recipes, photography, LETTERING, and beautiful stories. Such a wonderful read.

Here’s to a great week ahead! Take some time to slow down during these hectic days.

Hi Friends,

Here are a few pictures from the overnight trip we took to Vancouver a few weeks ago. We definitely did not spend enough time there and can’t wait to visit again. The weather was lovely, we ate some amazing food and it was overall a lot of fun. So much to do, so little time.

Hope you had a refreshing weekend!

Cheers! Heather

We’ve made a few trips down Olympia recently. Even though it’s a small town, I never get tired of going there. It’s not your typical small town, it’s a hidden gem. We’ve met so many people here in Seattle and have come to realize that nobody really pays attention to Olympia. I mean they all know it exists but most have never even stopped there. A place that stole my heart instantly is completely unrecognized by so many. It’s funny and strange because Olympia is the Capital of Washington.

I still miss living in Oly sometimes but I take comfort in knowing that I can visit whenever I want. Two short hours and the best Mexican food in WA is in front of me. ♥

Here are a few images from our last trip.

Have I ever told you how much I love Max Wanger’s Photography? This is just a small sample of some of his travel shots but he shoots everything from editorial to weddings and its all beautiful! He also has some really gorgeous prints for sale. I’m hoping to get my hands on one in the near future. You can find his portfolio here and his blog here.
